Oproep inschrijving atelierbezoek Pierre Courtin van 24 t/m 26 november 2010
Alleen voor Haagse kunstenaarsStroom nodigt sinds 2006 regelmatig curatoren, kunstenaars en critici uit binnen- en buitenland uit om atelierbezoeken af te leggen bij Haagse kunstenaars. Het atelierbezoek biedt de kunstenaar de gelegenheid om zich met zijn/haar werk te presenteren. Het vormt een gelegenheid tot opbouwende kritische reflectie op het werk in een gedachtenwisseling met een gekwalificeerde expert. En in het verlengde hiervan wordt natuurlijk de bekendheid met het werk gestimuleerd.
Van 24 t/m 26 november 2010 zal Pierre Courtin, beeldend kunstenaar, curator en directeur van Duplex (centrum voor hedendaagse kunst in Sarajevo, Bosnië-Herzégovina), een aantal atelierbezoeken afleggen aan kunstenaars in Den Haag.
Als u geïnteresseerd bent in een atelierbezoek van Pierre Courtin kunt u dat uiterlijk 14 november a.s. laten weten via een emailbericht aan Mischa Poppe.
Wij vragen u daarbij om uw interesse voor het bezoek kort te motiveren.
De binnengekomen reacties worden samen met suggesties vanuit Stroom aan Pierre Courtin voorgelegd. Uit de lijst zal hij een keuze maken op basis waarvan het bezoekprogramma zal worden samengesteld.
CV Pierre Courtin
Pierre Courtin (1976), an untypical character of an artistic protean commitment, defines himself as somebody acting on the stage of Art. He invests this stage, he acts on it, he seduces its codes. He constantly performs. He questions all the models, behaviours, structures of the various roles he embodies. Artist, art gallery manager, curator, collector but also iconoclast, do-it-yourselfer and amateur. A desire for anarchy as well as irony in an artistic and eminently political way: the protection of the contemporary arts as ideal places of freedom, experiments, confrontation, encounters, places where borders are broken.
In 2004, he created the dynamic galerija10m2, in Sarajevo in which he gives the opportunity to both regional and international artists to exhibit their works. He is now launching a new art gallery, the Duplex, right next to the galerija10m2 who is dedicated to exhibiting and promoting artistic projects that spring from a variety of media (sculpture, painting, drawing, video, installation, sound, photography, performance, books, etc.), and that are carried by innovative artists from Sarajevo, the Balkans, and the international stage.
Pierre Courtin lives and works in Sarajevo and Paris. He studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (National School of Fine Arts). In 2002-2003, he was selected for the seminary entitled "Introduction to exhibition" presided by Christian Bernard, director of the Mamco in Geneva. He is the award winner of the Keskar foundation in 2006.
From 2006 to 2009, he managed the Video-Salon project in Sarajevo, a collective exhibition of video art gathering 200 artists from 20 different countries. From 2007 to 2009, he is art director of the Copy-Paste project in Zagreb. He keeps working as a collector since 2002 and exhibits his collection in the art center OUI of Grenoble in 2008. He also promotes the collections of the galerija10m2 abroad, and organizes exhibitions in France, Germany, Korea, Japan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Poland.
