In de Stroom bibliotheek hebben we veel boeken over het onderwerp 'groen'. Tegelijkertijd loopt ook ons onderzoeksproject De Staat van Verzorging, ondermeer via een postercampagne in de stad. Daarom hebben we in deze tijden van lockdown een etalage over het onderwerp ingericht met de volgende titels:

In de tentoonstelling WV2000 die Stroom in 1996 organiseerde maakten diverse kunstenaars hun betrokkenheid bij de toekomstige Haagse vinex-wijk Wateringse Veld visueel. Het Bomenmuseum is een project in de Vinex-wijk Wateringse Veld naar een idee van de beeldend kunstenaar herman de vries. Uiteindelijk is dit boek de uitkomst van dit project waarvoor 400 boomsoorten zijn geplant die samen Het Bomenmuseum vormen.

In the manifesto The City in the City - Berlin: A Green Archipelago, Oswald Mathias Ungers and a number of his colleagues from Cornell University presented the first concepts and intellectual models for the shrinking city. In contrast to the reconstruction of the European city that was popular at the time, they developed the figure of a polycentric urban landscape. This critical edition contains a previously unpublished version of the manifesto by Rem Koolhaas, as well as interviews with co-authors Rem Koolhaas, Peter Riemann, Hans Kollhoff, and Arthur Ovaska. Introductory texts explain the development of the manifesto between Cornell and Berlin, position the work in the planning history of Berlin, and reveal its influence on current approaches.

Groen Nederland is bang voor de stad. De toenemende verstedelijking van het landschap is een bedreiging voor de kwaliteit van natuur en landschap, zo luidt de redenering. Economische functies als wonen, werken en infrastructuur bedreigen de collectieve functies van natuur, milieu, landschap en water.
