Public Arena consists of this publication, a film made in collaboration with students of Tallaght Community School, a neon work with the Thomas Davis club motto, and an event in Tallaght Stadium. The controversial history over the use of this stadium created a focus on a public space of shared interest. This history should not just be erased.

His satirical fantasies envisioned an electrified future, a world composed entirely of crystalline, colored glass.

In 2003 the new railway station in Zug, Switzerland, was opened with James Turrell's 'Light Transport' , a permanent light installation. In 2005 the Walter A. Bechtler-foundation's 'Skyspace Piz Uter' by James Turrell was opened, one of the first Skyspaces in Continental Europe. The two installations represent two contrary work types, one in a natural surrounding and one in a city. This publication presents the two works in Zug and Zuoz as case studies, comparing them and placing them into the context of the artist's overall oeuvre.

De bouw van het complex in 1983 is de start voor de verdere invulling van het gebied tussen Centraal Station en Spui. Van een geïsoleerd object evolueert het gebouw tot een volwaardig onderdeel van de stad. In 2007 is de Zwarte Madonna gesloopt, 22 jaar oud. Het misschien wel bekendste woningbouwproject van architect Carel Weeber in het Haagse Spuikwartier moest plaatsmaken voor twee nieuwe ministeries.
