SPOT grant stop for applications thru July 2019

As of 2 April 2019 Stroom is unfortunately forced to implement a SPOT grant stop for applications thru July 2019

In de Stroom grant brochure 2019 we announced that the SPOT grant budget for the year 2019 will be divided into two equal parts:
- part I covers the period February 2019 until (and including) July 2019
- part II covers the period August 2019 until (and including) January 2020

In the first months of this year we received many applications for SPOT grants. Because a large number of them were honored, we have reached the budget ceiling for the first part of the year 2019.
An increasing number of artists apply for presentations abroad. In the case of SPOT individueel (Individual) this applies to 80% of applications, a great boost for their visibility on an international level.
This underlines the success of the grant scheme, but we realize that for many of you this is disappointing news. Because this means that as of now, April 2, 2019, we are no longer able accept applications for SPOT Documentatie (Documentation) grants and SPOT Tentoonstellingssubsidies (Individueel en Groeps) (SPOT Exhibition, Individual and Group) grants for exhibitions/documentation that start in the months of April thru July.

Applications for a SPOT Documentation and SPOT Individueel en Groeps (Individual and Group) for exhibitions that start in the second half of the year 2019, can be submitted 6 months before the start of the exhibition, but no later than 1 month before the event in question.

In practical terms this means the following:
-start of exhibition/documentation in August, September, October: applications possible from April
-start of exhibition/documentation in November: applications possible from May
-start of exhibition/documentation in December: applications possible from June
-start of exhibition/documentation in January 2020: applications possible from July

You are still able to apply for the various PRO Grants.
