Center of The Hague: Spui - Grote Markstraat - Kalvermarkt

Part of The Sculpture Gallery

If you glance at it in passing, it looks as if there is an unreal and unspoilt mountain landscape in the city center of The Hague. A moment later the high mountain peaks look like the teeth of a dinosaur. This is not so strange, as the sculptor Adam Colton (1957) turns out to be fascinated by everything in nature. Bones, sculls, mountains and also his own arms and feet. Colton doesn't give us an exact representation of nature. While sketching he changes the shape of his subject.
