Krijn Giezen, making the source of the Haagse Beek visible

Kijkduin, on the side of the Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan

In 1992 Krijn Giezen proposed to 'purify' the Haagse Beek (transl.: Brook of The Hague). At the occasion of the congress Artivisual Landscapes he was invited to develop his vision by the IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects). By now the time is right and the Municipality and the Hoogheemraadschap have undertaken cleaning efforts. Along the lines of these efforts, Giezen was able to execute his original plan: to make visible the source of the Haagse Beek, which was realised in the beginning of 2000. For this occasion the website of Stroom showed an annex, highlighting a choice of Krijn Giezens projects on public art (1980-2000).
