Each year the Stroom Aanmoedigingsprijs (Encouragement Award) of € 2.500,- is given to selected student(s) as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK).

In 2016 the Award goes to Yamuna Forzani (department Textile & Fashion). The other artists on the shortlist were: Luuk Eggenhuizen (Graphic Design), Elizaveta Pritychenko (Graphic Design), Alexander Andropoulos (Fine Arts), Jerome Cornevin (Fine Arts), Suzie van Staaveren (Fine Arts), Fahmy Shanin (Interactive/ Media/ Design).

From the jury statement:
"The jury praises Yamuna Forzani's presentation. Her work immediately leaves an impression and her imagery grabs you by the throat. Her work challenges our notions about haute couture. Forzani speaks street language without turning into a cliche?."
