Leonie Schneider: Graduation Project 'Immortality Commune' Teaser - watch on YouTube

Each year the Stroom Aanmoedigingsprijs (Encouragement Award) of € 2.500,- is given to selected student(s) as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK).

In 2018 the Encouragement Award goes to Leonie Schneider (department Fine Arts).

From the Jury report:
"Leonie Schneider convinced with a very physical and oppressive space that draws the visitor in a politically charged atmosphere. In this universe, occupied by figures with masks, the viewer senses that something is wrong, but this is not being made specific. The estranging atmosphere invites the spectator to further explore the space but it also keeps him/her an outsider, which reinforces the indefinable sense of uneasiness."
