The Aanmoedigingsprijs 2001 was awarded to: Martijn Overweel (department of visual arts), Nadine Stijns (department of photography).

The award is given by Stroom Den Haag to selected students as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy in The Hague.

In addition 2 more students were nominated: Alin Duraduryan (department of visual arts); Saskia Wessels (department of visual arts).
