This year Stroom Den Haag will once again host the finals of the Bio Art & Design Award (BAD Award) competition. From 15:00 hrs teams of young artists/designers and scientists will pitch their art projects in the field of bio art and design in front of the jury, members of the press and the audience. Following the presentations the chairman of the jury will announce the three winners. Each winning team will be granted an award of € 25.000 to realize their project.

A short explanation about the background of the competition, the preselection and what will happen after an artist/designer wins.

15.15 - 16.00 hrs
(Film) Documentary "Talking Plants & Morning Urine"
A documentary about collaboration between artists & scientists in the Bio Art & design competition (made by Bromet&dochters and commissioned by CSG Centre for Society and the Life Sciences)

16.00 - 16.50 hrs
Public pitches by all contestants about their proposed projects*
Every contestant will pitch their project in only 3 minutes.

About the BAD Award
The Bio Art & Design Award is an encouragement for young artists and designers to explore the boundaries of art and science in collaboration with life scientists. It is an initiative of NWO, ZonMw, MU art space and BioArt Laboratories in Eindhoven.
