Zefir7 Maandelijks ontwerperscafé i.s.m. BNO. Deze keer Type on Tuesday met presentaties van Anya Danilova (letterontwerper) en Benjamin McMillan (grafisch vormgever).
Anya Danilova is a type designer originally from Moscow, Russia. After studying in MA Type and Media in The Hague, she stayed in the Netherlands and continues her practice, working with various type foundries like Grilli Type, Typotheque, Arrow Type, and type.today. With her graduation project for Type and Media called Rezak, she won the Gerard Unger Scholarship in 2020 and plans to release this typeface soon with Type Together. In her lecture, Anya will show some of her projects and talk about her experience of surviving in another country.
Benjamin McMillan is a graphic designer based in Amsterdam who is constantly drifting in and out of type construction. Much of his type work involves an investigation and exploration into methodologies and processes that do not use the typical pen tools and bezier curves found in professional type editing softwares. Since graduating in 2020 he has been working on a project called Full Auto. A workshop based type foundry that explores how automation can play a roll in type production and allow others who would otherwise not have the opportunity a chance at creating their own letterforms.
