For the fifth time Stroom brought together a group of young, unsuspect and investigative curators/artists for the so-called Invest Conference. On June 7 they talked with Alexander Mayhew about their ideals, ideas and motives and about the choices they have to make. This evening is part of a conference for artists and curators from The Netherlands and abroad, organized by Stroom Den Haag in concurrence with the Invest subsidies awarded by Stroom each year. This conference also comprises a program of studio visits, presentations, and informal meetings.

The Stroom PRO Invest is a grant for young, recently graduated artists helping them in the further development of their career and stimulating their active participation in the art scene in The Hague.

The artists who received the Stroom PRO Invest in 2010 are:
Wolfgang Bittner, Johan Nieuwenhuize, Magdalena Pilko, Jeroen Uyttendaele, Lyndsey Housden, Veniamin Kazachenko, Nishiko, Eric Schrijver.


The curators participating in the 2011 Invest Conference are:

- Bram van Damme (Brussels/Aalst, B) curator Netwerk, Aalst
- Khaled Hourani (Ramallah, Palestine) artists, schrijver, curator, artistic director of the International Academy of Art
- Didem Özbek (Istanbul, TR) artist, designer and co-founder PIST/// Istanbul
- Angelique Spaninks (Eindhoven, NL) curator, director MU Eindhoven
- Michal Wolinski (Warschau, PL) editor, author, curator Piktogram magazine & project space
- Juha van 't Zelfde (Amsterdam, NL) author, musician, reseacher, co-founder Non-fiction and Vurb, founder of Viral Radio
