Text by Raphael Langmair himself
(translation: Stroom Den Haag):

In this presentation I reflect on the creation process of my work. From the very first idea that comes into my mind, right up to the physical end result. The circle of text is the outcome of a two-year research into doubt, and an attempt to get to grips with the mental process that precedes a physical action. From uncertainty to hesitation, doubt, despair and spontaneity to a kind of certainty that becomes visible in the final work. The iron frame offers the opportunity to add more work. At the same time the frame is light and vulnerable. It can be questioned at any time and it can bite the circle in the tail. The text is another element of certainty. At times when a feeling of necessary desperation sets in, a spontaneous choice or act will lead to something new. It is at this moment when you are absolutely lost, that you get a sudden feeling of enormous clarity.
