Op vrijdag 13 april (hele dag) en donderdag 26 april (vanaf 11.30 uur) a.s. zal Anke Bangma, artistiek directeur van TENT, Rotterdam een aantal atelierbezoeken afleggen bij kunstenaars in Den Haag.Aanmelden voor een bezoek uiterlijk donderdag 5 april 2018

My working base is the visual arts, but I have a broad interest in a wide range of practices, which may also expand into performance, theatre, education, and participatory practices. I engage with work that explores cultural and social themes, often at the intersection of the collective and the personal. Artists I have collaborated with related to, for example, globalisation, migration, identity, self-performance, man's relation to nature and natural resources, the legacies of histories of colonisation and conflict, social psychology, body memory, the voice, and storytelling. Rather than working with pre-set themes, it is often the research and imagination of the artists I meet that inspires new curatorial projects and collaborations.

De binnengekomen reacties worden samen met eventuele suggesties vanuit Stroom aan de curator voorgelegd. Uit de lijst zal de curator een keuze maken op basis waarvan het bezoekprogramma zal worden samengesteld. Je ontvangt alleen een bericht wanneer je door de curator bent geselecteerd voor een atelierbezoek.
Beknopte biografie van de curator
Anke Bangma is artistic director of TENT Rotterdam, where she organizes a programme of exhibitions, new productions, performances and events, connecting with the urban culture in which TENT is embedded as well as with global developments. She is also an advisor to DAS Theatre in Amsterdam. Previously, she held the position of curator contemporary art at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, where she collaborated with anthropologists and historians, commissioned art projects and realised exhibitions related to the photography archives of the museum. She also worked as research supervisor for the Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Programme (2008-2015), as course director Fine Art at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam (1999-2007), and as junior curator at Witte de With.
Recent and forthcoming projects include the exhibitions Anytime Now (forthcoming, TENT Rotterdam, 2018), In a World We Can't See (TENT Rotterdam, 2018), Going Back to Forget (TENT Rotterdam, 2017), Global Imaginations (a collaboration with De Lakenhal, Leiden, 2015), Look at Me (Tropenmuseum, Amsterdam, 2014), Imagined Places (Tropenmuseum, Amsterdam, 2013), and Performing Evidence (SMART Project Space, Amsterdam, 2009), as well as solo exhibitions with Pilar Mata Dupont (forthcoming 2018), Esther Kokmeijer (forthcoming 2018), Julien Grossmann (2017), Giuseppe Licari (2017), Jompet Kuswidananto (2015), Charl Landvreugd (2014), Anoek Steketee (2013), and Erick Beltran (2012).
Atelierbezoekprogramma Stroom
Al meer dan 10 jaar nodigt Stroom curatoren, kunstenaars en critici uit binnen- en buitenland uit om atelierbezoeken af te leggen bij Haagse kunstenaars. Het atelierbezoek biedt de kunstenaar de gelegenheid om zich met zijn/haar werk te presenteren. Het vormt een gelegenheid tot opbouwende kritische reflectie op het werk in een gedachtewisseling met een expert. En in het verlengde hiervan wordt natuurlijk de bekendheid met het werk gestimuleerd.
