Op maandag 25 maart vond de tweede bibliotheeksessie van dit jaar plaats. Deze keer waren onze hoofdgasten Sophie Krier en Rolando Vazquez.
"When we get to be in mourning, we are beginning to perceive that we are not single beings, feeling things that are beyond our individual life. This awareness we should cultivate. The struggle is to find those vocabulary practices that help us escape indolence."
'Re-membering', especially because of its spelling, was one of the beautiful and crucial words that we took with us from this library session with Sophie Krier and Rolando Vázquez. In anglophone decolonial discourse the term re-membering is used to both refer to bringing back together the members of a broken body or group, and to the act of remembering again what has been forgotten, lost or silenced (source: Q-Meanderings in Worlds of Mourning by Sophie Krier i.c.w. Rolando Vázquez and Saodat Ismailova).
It was a special conversation with the artists Risk Hazekamp, Rajni Shah, Fazle Shairmahomed, and Katerina Sidorova, and faction employee Partij voor de Dieren, Rosa de Nooijer. The conversation reflected everyone's deeply felt concern for what is happening in this world. Being witness, and compassionate with the suffering of others, all experienced a sense of mourning, a consciousness Rolando in fact advocates:
