Time/Bank - How it works.

Time/Store Den Haag
Location: Hogewal 1-9, The Hague
Open: Wed thru Sun, 12 noon - 5 pm

(please note: during the weekend 12-13 May we're closed!)

De Time/Store Den Haag only accepts Hour Notes as payment. You acquire Hour Notes by exchanging the positive balance on your Time / Bank account for physical Hour Notes through Stroom Den Haag. You get a positive balance on your Time/Bank account by exchanging services and goods with other members of the Time/Bank. Go to the Time/Bank website to create a free account.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • 1. Go to www.e-flux.com/timebank

  • 2. Click on 'register' in top right corner.

  • 3. Fill in the fields (those with an asterisk are required fields) and indicate that you want to become a member of the Time/Bank Den Haag. This does not mean that international members cannot find you. It does means that it is more easy to find people in your vicinity.

  • 4. When you have created your account and are logged in, you can start listing.

  • 5. Go to 'listings' and you will see on the right hand side of the screen (when you are logged in!) the possibility to create a 'listing'. This button  is called 'post a listing'.

  • 6. When you create a 'listing state that you either A) are looking for something (someone who can help you with something or a particular product you are looking for) or B) that you have something to offer (something you are good at and want to do for others). You describe what you are looking for or what you are offering and how many hours you want or offer for this. Then you  publish your 'listing'.

  • 7. Members of the network can respond to your 'listing'. You will in that case receive an email which allows you to make contact. If you come to a deal this means that A) hours will be taken off your account - you can only have a limited amount of negative hours! - or B) hours will be added to your account. You agree yourself with the other party how many hours stand for a certain service or product.

  • 8. If you want your positive Time/Bank credit to be paid out, you contact Stroom Den Haag. The physical Hour Notes will then be paid and debited from your online Time / Bank account.

  • 9. With the Hour Notes you can buy stuff in the Time/Store Den Haag, the temporary Time/Store in Frankfurt or the Time/Store in New York. Furthermore, several Dutch cultural institutions accept Hour Notes as payment: MU in Eindhoven, the Nutshuis in The Hague, Witte de With and NAI in Rotterdam and Casco in Utrecht.
