Aanmoedigingsprijs 2017

Victoria Douka-Doukopoulou

Each year the Stroom Aanmoedigingsprijs (Encouragement Award) of € 2.500,- is given to selected student(s) as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK).

In 2017 the Award goes to Victoria Douka-Doukopoulou (department ArtScience).

Victoria Douka-Doukopoulou's 'A catalog of all things invisible' complies stories of the invisible, the unthinkable and the inappreciable. The installation of the three-fold catalog indexes scores for a performative lecture, a documentary and an archive that can never been actualised as their building material is the invisible itself. The catalog is mainly words — technical words, English words motivated by the sensitivity of practicing the art of noticing, of looking for traces and ways.
