Bas de Boer is a visual artist who creates kinetic installations and paintings. "By combining the funny with the disastrous, de Boer points at the destructive circles humans tend to make while simultaneously holding on to the idea of societal advancement towards something better. With his caricatures of contemporary life De Boer lets us laugh at our own ineptitude and stupidity while we watch the never ending repetitions of failure made in his installations, that are like a dog chasing his own tall" (quote from Cuckoo, Irene de Craen, 2010).
