The exhibition Nishiko: Repairing Earthquake Project about the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami in Japan, is accompanied by the Stroom School program Rising Waters around the theme of sea level rise.

This evening a lecture/presentation by Annechien Meier (NL). In addition to her practice as a visual artist, she is also the co-founder of the art organization Laboratory for Microclimates (with Gert-Jan Gerlach). She will talk about her research into and the realization of climate-related art projects that deal with water issues. These projects raise awareness about water surplus and the importance of the removal of paved surfaces in the urban environment and thus contribute to the creation of "new" public space and climate improvement, both in the city and worldwide.

Laboratory for Microclmates
realises art and film projects around microclimates. A microclimate is a small area that differs from it's surrounding area. With these projects, they encourage people to change their social and ecological environment.
