Ondertussen: From Left to Right

June 9 thru July 18, 2007
Location: Hogewal 1-9

The former reception area of Stroom has been converted into a small exhibition space. On a regular basis there are presentations of artists who have received a subsidy in the categories Stroom PRO- and SPOT-grants. The informal exhibitions and presentations are intended to illustrate the diversity of the Stroom grant system. The program in the space is called Ondertussen (Meanwhile).

The video project ‘From Left to Right' is an initiative of the artist Pietertje van Splunter. Galleri 54 from Göteborg (Sweden) invited her for an exhibition in their new space. She asked 17 artists from The Hague to make a video work especially for this occasion. The only condition was that the image should move from left to right. Together the works form one big installation. The show in the window of the artist initiative Galleri 54 took place in April this year and was on view 24 hours a day.

‘From Left to Right' features work by the following artists:
Marlies Adriaanse, Rachel Bacon, Bei Ning, Harold de Bree, Marc Claeijs, José den Hartog, Martijn Koolstra, Erik-Jan Ligtvoet, Marjolijn van der Meij & Arianne Olthaar, Jessy Rahman, Zeger Reyers, Pierre Sondeijker, Pietertje van Splunter, Oscar Stegehuis, Elizabeth de Vaal, Thom Vink, Nies Vooijs.

The presentation of the project in Göteborg was also made possible with the financial support of a Stroom SPOT-subsidy for group shows.
