Victoria Douka-Doukopoulou lives in The Hague where she graduated from the ArtScience interfaculty in 2017. She is the winner of the Stroom Aanmoedigingsprijs 2017, an award given to selected students as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). Victoria Douka-Doukopoulou runs the experimental publication and distribution project oneacre.online. As a filmmaker, she gathers and assembles the invisible, the unthinkable and the unappreciable and usually turns them into films, sometimes into biothings. Her work grows and moves, literally.

For the duration of her OpZicht presentation, the entrance space of Stroom serves as the host and access point of the canonical url acatalog.allthingsinvisible.online. Over the course of five weeks the OpZicht space will host a server streaming the catalog and three attempts around the idea of browsing.

acatalog.allthingsinvisible.online compiles stories of the invisible, the unthinkable and the inappreciable. The installation explores ways of browsing the three-fold catalog that indexes scores for a performative lecture, a documentary and an archive. The three attempts in browsing explore different aspects of the catalog that is mainly words - technical words, English words motivated by the sensitivity of practicing the art of noticing, of looking for traces and ways of knowing and world making.

acatalog.allthingsinvisible.online

attempt three : to mine a url
Borrowing from archival practices of recovering unarchived websites, the metadata of the url will be altered to include information from So let's say, you walk down a path and you run into a snag, a dead tree, a unexpected drawback — a soarvi, a publication that serves as the backbone of the entries on display at the acatalog.allthingsinvisible.online. The launch of the publication and metadata will take place on Tuesday 5 December 2017 from 15:00 to 17:00 hrs.
